Yeah, I would have passed that off as okay also.

I definitely feel for you. When I put my first cam in, I got a huge nasty knock about 20 seconds after startup. It quieted down within another 10 seconds, but I thought something was going to come apart on me. It quieted down, but never went away. I swapped cams, and this one is quieter, but I still have the noise to some extent.

I the rocker are all intact and torqued properly. PR's are all straight. Springs didn't show any sign of damage. Good oil pressure, never touched the infamous o-ring.

Acutally, did you catch those treads? I hear that some valvetrain noise can be traced to a bad install of the oil pump o-ring? Somewhat weak pressure will make the lifters noisey?

Thanks for all the help guys. I will be looking into the oil pressures a little further since I know I really can't go off of what our gauge reads. I'll keep you guys posted, thanks again.

Yes, that's what I did. I have been hearing more and more about the "R" lifters though. What did you end up using instead? I recently heard of a company called Morel I believe(or something like that) that has the "best" lifters on the LS1 market. $500 a set, that insane! But, like the saying goes: "You have to pay to play."
