I have a GM alarm on my truck that came like that from the factory. It has a switch to turn it off and on with the ignition. On my keyless entry remote it has a gm button on their to do different things with the alarm. Well my remote broke about a year and a half ago and i was just using the key. Then about two days ago at work I got a new keyless remote that worked fine with the doors and last night I set my alarm and when I came outside and unlocked it with the remote my alarm went off. It still won't go off and I can't turn it off with the switch or even when I start it is still stays on. I had to cut the alarm wires and then took out the horn fuse. It still goes off with the lights flashing and everything inside flashing too. I disconnected the battery cable and then I even took out my pcm to see if it would reset it but it didn't work. I took the fuse out to the alarm and then the truck wouldn't start. So I put the fuse back in and then started the truck then took the fuse out and it will work but the security light stays on and the truck idles funny. I don't know if it idles funny because of the alarm or bc I took the pcm out and back in. I tried doing the idle relearn but still doesn't work. I might take the computer out again and try it again. I can cut the alarm off if I could get the remote to work but the dealership said they discontinued those. I hate computers.

 

Did you get the alarm fixed? Sorry I can't help. I have no knowledge on alarms. bump....

 

no its all jacked up. I'm going to see if they can fix it at the shop tomorrow.
