Hey guys i just joined and i also just got a 01 silverado rc with a 5.3. I got the truck to play with it has 148k miles on it. But i have a dilema should i rebuild the 5.3 add a cam and port and polish the heads and get it tuned? Or should i do a motor swap say a 6.0 or a ls1? Thanks ahead for the replies.

 

If it was me I'd put a cammed 6.0 in it and a built 4l65e/80e depending on how wild you are gonna get. Either way you'll need a transmission sooner or later.
