Default Need a quiter exhaust

My son has a turbo'd 6 liter that we have a straight thru Neslon 4" exhaust that is dumped in front of the rear axle. It is way too loud. We use to have it turned out in front of the rear wheel, but it had a wicked popping to it when accelerating.

What muffler are you guys running that will flow enough but not require you to wear earplugs to drive it?

Dumping it doesn't help the situation; it will at least seem more civilized if you run it to the bumper or at least over the axle. Honestly the factory 6.2 muff (3.5") is a decent piece, but any chambered muffler with a decent-sized body should calm it down from the racket your experiencing with a straight pipe.

Exhaust is 4", I want to keep it that size for the flow. Truck is also lowered--not much room to go over the axle with 4".
Might try to find an older system from a duramax and see it we can thread it over the axle.

I modded a 4" D-Max kit from AFE for my truck. It sounds great, but it is INCREDIBLY loud, and drones terribly.

I know a turbo SSS guy from Fairbanks that says he used a Magnaglow 4" muffler, and a universal 4" mandrel bend kit, and while his truck is loud, it's not "as loud" and it doesn't drone nearly as much as mine.

I am running a 4'' edelbrock diesel muffler. It is loud, but does not drone to bad, you can still talk in the cab at light throttle. I have it over the axle, dumps rite behind the bumper. I also added a dynatech baffled tip to it.. It calmed the cracking down a bit..

I'd like some info on the Dynatech baffled tip, so I can compare it to what I have.

Thanks!

I've got a 51" Donaldson on my Cummins, but I can't seem to make one of those fit under the chevy.
