Default Need quiet exhaust mufflers

Well I am already getting tired of the loud exhaust system. Right now it consists of:
Thorley headers
stock cats
2.5" Magnaflow X-pipe
two 2.5" Dynomax bullets dumped before the axle

I think it is just too loud! In my driveway and at my friend's house things inside our houses. Sure I love it and would keep it it was just a toy and not my daily driver. Who doesnt love setting off car alarms everywhere. Anyways, I am thinking quieter, as much as possible without hindering performance. I was thinking of chopping off the bullets and using a dual in dual out muffler or even keeping the bullets on and still adding the new muffler afterwards. I will also route it to the side and put tips on them instead of having it dumped.

I was thinking of Magnaflow's longest case muffler. What other ideas do you guys have? I will be keeping the headers, cats, and X-pipe for sure. I am just deciding about the mufflers.

Thanks in advance, Mark.

I would definately do a rear exit or side exit after the axle. I don't deal too much with magnaflows, but I know the flowmaster 50 series suv would quiet it down a lot and still have a nice tone, but everyone on this site hates flows lol.

dynomax makes a good X muffler.
you could do that and definatly run the exaust all the way to the rear to quiet it down.

Woudlnt be weird though as I already run an x pipe? Would that be like two x-pipes?

I have actually been thinking about this. But the hate for flowmasters and how much they actually flow really turns me off.

Do you guys think I would notice a difference adding this muffler?

brain fart.
now i remember you saying that you want to keep the x pipe.
next choice would be get rid of the bullets and throw in 2 hooker aerochambers (center in/out) mufferls in there and run the tailpipe all the way to the back, however way you want.

I would look into the Hooker Maximum flows. They have excellent flow numbers and a fairly low db on the idle niose. I haven't been able to find any good sound clips though.

After some researching I think I am set on Magnaflow.
I was thinking the Magnaflow part# 11379

However, would it bad to get a 3" inlet with a 2.5 dual outlet and run it in reverse? How would this hinder the performance?

Also, I was thinking of maybe just putting tailpipes and tips on my current bullets as it should quiet it down. How much quieter should this be over the dump setup?

the tailpipes will be quiter since the exhaust dumped makes the noise bounce back off the pavement and produce a louder sound. you could try the rear pipes first and see how it goes. I wouldn't reccommend running any muffler in "reverse" because they're designed to flow in a specific direction. if you want 2 pipes to go into one just get a Y and buy a regular single in single out, or a single in dual out... there's endless possibilities
