Well here is my current setup..i have thorley headers and i have a pipe connected to each header that runs to about the middle of the bed of my truck with 40 series delta flow flowmasters with turndowns welded on..thats it...no x-pipe...oh yeah i dont have cats...it sounds pretty good, but its a lil to loud. but the idle sounds very good..i dunno its just kinda cheap soundin..everytime i start it everyone looks at me, and i dont like drawing attention to myself..i dont want a whole cat back system,, i just want to cut my flowmasters off and weld two mufflers in there place and keep the turndowns..i still want sumin loud, just not this damn loud and i dont want a cheap sound either..suggestions would be nice...thanks

I'd do a magnaflow if you still want to keep it kinda loud, just go with some larger mufflers. I have the di/do flowmaster 50 series and I'm going to be going with a di/do magnaflow, the largest one they have i beleive, its like 22 inches long or so. If you wanna quiet it down alot I've heard good things about the dynomax super turbo mufflers, they flow well and are pretty darn quiet from what I hear

Alot of people like borla as well but Magnaflow seems more popular around here. I have also heard that the borla mufflers can wear out (sound different-louder, less quality etc.) after awhile whereas the magnaflow do not..?? maybe someone with personal experience can enlighten you on this. I beleive most borla mufflers are quieter than magnaflow as well. But it all depends on how big of a muffler you get. I don't think you'd go wrong with either though. I definetely know where you're coming from, I'm getting tired of the way my flowmasters sound and I personally want something thats a little quieter down low (less resonance in the cab) when I'm cruising around but will sound really aggressive when I get on it. Both of these mufflers will flow better than the flowmaster also.

if you like the sound of your 40 delta flows then just go up one more to the 50 series Delta Flow. i know alot of hot-rodders that did the same thing last year and are all happy now. still has the deep tone but not too agressive!!
