Default Need Opinion on a cai

I have an 02 sivly with a 5.3L and complete with a Volant intake with tube and its the old style with carbon fiber lid and I feel my gas mileage has decrease somewhat, and ive cleaned and recharged it and the unit has been on the truck since i bought it and i thought about getting another Volant system or a K&N FIPK! just wanted some advise thats all.

Thanks to all!

I doubt there is anything wrong with the CIA that you have. I don't think that Granatelli MAF is doing you any favors, but you might benefit from getting some MAF cleaner and spraying it down.

Since he's got the old-style Volant, he probably could get better results with the K&N or the new Volant. I've got CRS syndrome so the details have escaped me, but one of the car magazines (I think) tested the old Volant and the thing actually hurt performance/mileage.

Id go with a outlaw CAI if they were still made. My dad has one on his 2500hd and its a good solid intake. I dont mind my k&n fipk, but the filter gets dirty fast for some reason.

I like my new style Volant, no complaints. It performs the same as my old K&N FIPK as far as I can tell, but is nicer looking under the hood IMO. (there's some pics if you check the cardomain link in my siggy)
