um it rly just depepnds. if you find a good deal " what i did" you wont spend nearly as much. but id say between $2,000-3,500 depending on parts you choose. thats for cam, and FBO's & tune. i currently have a 5.3 with FBO, Cam, Heads, custom intake, and fuel and im prob around 375 hp or so. my set up on a 4x4 ext cab on 33" tires is good for mid 13's " i need gears" but im plaining on boost so just gotta deal with it haha

here's what id do...
1. ebay intake.
2. find you a good exhaust u like.
3. Longtube headers.... you can find some on ebay for a decent price or go all out - kooks
4. get you a good tune " not a pos hand held " im currently running neslons.
5. get a wideband set up. ie plx, afe, ECT.....
6. choose your cam. you can get a great off the shelf cam thats been proven to work over and over or you can get a custom cam from some one like PAT,G

7. now with your cam choice will determine your springs, and you'll need push rods, i did lifters as well on mine but you dont have to.

8. find you a good stall.

9. have fun! if you want boost hook it up but make sure you up grade your fuel system and you have a good tune.
