Im new to building these ls engines...i have a 2000gmc sierra 1500 4.8 side mount superchared...but want to build a 5.3 for a little more power what would you guys suggest i can do to the 5.3 for power as well as putting the supercharger to it?

What cam would u recommend and note this is still gatta b daily driven lol...im only looking fir like 450hp i kno the supercharher will put me at clost 375 range

 

Any info on the supercharger your planning on using with it?

 

I have a powerdyne supercharger ....it came on the truck..wouldnt be my choice but if i got it now i mine ss well use it haha...its got a 7lb pulley on it but im inly getting 4-5 due to belt slip

 

I would put a cam, springs in the 4.8, turn the boost up. Plenty of guys now making power with 4.8's, I will bet it makes more power then it does now with that side mount.

 

Well i just picked up the 5.3 cheap so i fugured build it then when its completely ready just motor swap bolt on the supercharger and tune it

 

What else do i needto do to the engine to run the blower?

 

eather get a custom cam or just run something like a tr220 they react well to boost and ofcorse FBO

 

I can work on cars bud but im just a back yard do it urselfer haha...wats FBO and wat else would i have to change with the cam?
