I have a 2002 chevy trailblazer. I wanna swap the 5.3L from the trailblazer ext into it, and a lil more. Ive been callin around to different salvage yards for complete engines. Finally came across 1 that has wat i need for the right price. The biggest question on my mind is how will the ecu work. Would i have to get one with the exact things my trailblazer has, such as DIC or gears. Or could all this be programed in with any ecu from a trailblazer ext. Thats the only question thats been holding me back on he swap. One more thing is i know its pretty common place to switch out the 5.3 to a 6.0, could i do this. Is it the same dimensions? Is it just a matter of a nelson tune for it all to work. If yall could answer there question, then finally i can be the first one to swap a v8 in a regular base trailblazer before the ss debuts. I'm not sure how "bolt in" of a swap the I-5 to v-8 would be, but the 5.3 to 6.0 is nothing. A buddy of mine went from 4.8 to 6.0 and is still using the 4.8 factory tuning. It will still run circles around my 5.3 But not for long
