Default Need Input on motor swap

Truck is a 1996 RCSB GMC Sierra 5.7L Vortec 2wd and recently rebuilt 4l60 trans w/ shift kit , servos and 2200 stall. Looking to do a turn key LS1 but what would be easier to put in a turn key LS1 or LT1? Also, What would be needed to do the LS1 like motor mounts, wiring harness ect..?

you can build you a street friendly 500 horse carbed 383 for at least half the price it would be to convert to an ls1 style motor...

Come on guys... Yeah it'll take some work, but it's not impossible. I'm dropping a 5.3 in my '86. The most time consuming thing is harness splicing. Seriously, I'm taking the time to do it right. Should be all set by February.

Do the LS1 and get the LS1 4l60e to go with it.
dont do an Lt1, the Vortec isnt down hardly anything when compared to an LT1. The Vortec and LT1 heads have the same port design.

LS1 wayy over an LT1, for sure. I would mod an L31 over a Lt1 install, with teh Marine and Ramjet intake conversions, there is no reason to do an Lt1 install.

peace
