Default Need help with piston to valve clearance

I have just got in a set of Patriot performance stage 2 LS6 heads with a 64cc combustion chamber 2.02 intake, 1.57 exhaust. My cam is a comp cams 230/236 @ 50 .591/601 110lsa. I am wanting to know if I will have any clearance problems on a 02 LQ9?

No you shouldnt have any clearence problems. If you want to check the clearence out you can put some playdoe on the piston then put your heads back on spin the motor over by hand take the heads back off than check your clearence. I know it takes alot of work to just check the clearences but its beter than smacking a piston with the valve.

my only problem right now is the pistons are not even in the block yet. I am looking for a rebuild kit for the motor. How can you tell how much clearance you have with the clay? What do you messure it with?

The thickness of the playdoe....

If the valve goes through the playdoe or almost through the playdoe then you will probably have some contact...

If there is still a good bit of playdoe between where the valve was then everything will be fine

well worth the check
