Default need help picking heads

ok iv decided on the cam, im going with the tr224/224 112lsa with the 7.4 hardened rods and double springs. now i need heads to match and i dont know a damn thing about them or how to match them to a cam, i just know if u dont get them right they might hurt u more than help, so any suggestions, and if your running this cam whats your setup and how do u like the cam? also do you think a yank 3000 stall with some 4.10's will go good with this cam?

Give Richard at WCCH a call, I'm sure that he'll have exactly what you need...there's a link to WCCH's website on the right>>>>
(WCCH = West Coast Cylinder Heads)

I like the 4.10's but I'd recommend a little more converter with a TR224 in a 5.3...something in the 3200-3400 range IMO

i was pretty convinced on the tr224 but iv seen some ppl on here say that thats a very aggressive cam for a 5.3 and see a lot of ppl running a 220, so maby changing my mind to a tr220 and just use a single spring set up and save a couple hundred bucks. also seen some ppl runnin a tb converter and said they stall at like 2600 or so do u think that will work with the tr220 cam, if so i you can pick one of them up for like 150 bucks so i will save some money there to. this is by dd so i dont want somethin to crazy but would like to get low 13's high 12's with a 100 shot

I agree that the TR220 is a better choice than the TR224 for a street driven 5.3. The TR220 in a 5.3 would be best with a 3k converter and should be a perfect fit for the 4.10's that you mentioned. I'm pretty sure that's the setup that bluecajun used to get his rcsb into the 12's NA. If funds are super tight, the tb converter will work, but it's not the optimal choice IMO, you'll be leaving a little bit on the table.

I'd recommend some PAC 1218's for that cam btw...not sure if the LS6 springs have adequate seat pressure for the ramp rate of TR's lobes...

Don't get a TB converter. Spend the money and get something better
