Need help: Buying full exhaust (headers back) tonight...

Hey guys, my second post. yay...

Anyways, I have somewhat recently bought my current FSC:
'02 Silverado, lm7 5.3, scsb (stepside)
I have a k&n fipk, hypertech hpp3(plan on replacing with a black bear soon) and a knock-off flowmaster cat-back dumped before the axle.
I was seriously considering an average cam, springs, hardened pushrods, etc...
But I think I should start with baby steps.
I want to replace my entire exhaust system headers all the way back.
In the future, I do plan on camming it with the basic essentials for the new cam. Too bad I'm a newb for internal engine components.
With that said, I want to go 1 3/4 4to1 to an H pipe(better low-end over x-pipe, correct?), deleted cats, and a magnaflow muffler. (not sure which one yet)
I want to retain my dumped exhaust before the axle.
The truck is lowered and I don't have much room between the axle and bed...
Can someone suggest header and muffler options to me?
Cal speed makes a good part right? I've heard Pacesetter's fitment can be a PITA...
Thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

In continuation, I live in Louisiana but I work up here in Pa. I have 9 days and a wake-up before I get to jump on a plane and go home for a couple weeks.
I really would like this full exhaust to be @ my house before I go home so I have 2 full weeks to play. The sooner I buy, the better. I really don't want to jump the gun though...

welcome from just below you (logansport). Ive got the same truck lowered 4/6 and i havent had any problems. I bought the pacesetter lt's, ory pipe and I didnt have a problem or have had any. Check out one of the sponcers >>>> I got mine from speed engineering.

i just bought my Calspeed LTs. check em out. all stainless steel and comes with the y pipe so you can run without cats. slap on some LTs and get the tune and itll wake up for sure. the location of your stock cat back system will stay the same as far as i know.. it took a while for them to get to my house i would prolly say 8-10 days maybe but maybe you can get them shipped express or somethin.. either way man, good luck and welcome to the site

If you have a 4/6, mine must be a 5/7. The guy before me cut the front springs and took 2 leafs out of the rear.
I plan on the very near future putting 1" drops in the front with drop a-arms and 2" spindles and oem leafs with a flip kit. Tryin' to keep the look but doin' it the right way.
Here's my stance:

Dude cut the rear bumpstops. apparently they hit too much.
I like the way it looks, but hate the way it rides.
The knock-off flowmazers look like one welded them on in his garage with a hope and a prayer...
It does sound good, but that's probably about it.

I really wanna replace the cat-back system though. I believe it's 2 1/2 out, but whoever put them in welded the exhaust inside the muffler outlet. I'm not gonna try to explain. I just don't like it. Plus it's a knock-off... I'd almost rather have glass-packs over what I have now.

na man pic in sig is stock hight, havent updated yet but it does sit a little lower than yours

I have researched a bit and from what I've seen, and H-pipe retains better low end compared to an X pipe.
Like previously stated, I plan on installing an average cam but from what I understand that will knock my bottom end off a bit.
Has anyone heard of replacing the oem gas tank with a GMC savana or other fullsize GM van gas tank? It is located where the current spare tire is. That way I could get the best laminar flow straight back with true duals, dumped right in front of the axle. I couldn't find anything on this mod though.
I've heard this a few years back from a guy in town, and it makes sense.

Buy a new magnaflow cat back system and just bolt it onto the Y pipe. I have started regretting fabbing up my own true dual exhaust. Unless you're pushing big forced induction power, anything over 3" is overkill.
