Default Need help... broken sensor.

First, It's been a while since I've been here because of so much going on. My pulled the 5.3 yesterday and dropped in the 6.0 about 2 hours ago. There are 2 sensors threaded into the block near the firewall. I believe one is cam position and other is oil pressure. The oil pressure sensor was cracked during all the comotion so i now need a new sensor. The one that came with the 6.0 is smaller and only has 1 pin compared to the old one has 3 pins. I managed to get my hands on the plug for the new type sensor also. Problem is, will the 3 pin sensor work with only 1 wire hooked to it? Or do I need an older style sensor? Thanks in advance.

I had the same issue on my 99 kinda. The 03 6.0 had a newer 3-wire sensor. I ended up breaking the tall 1-wire sender on my 5.3. I just put the 6.0 sender in till I got my new one. Better off getting the right sensor man. From what I can tell you need the tall sender, PN 12562267.

Yea, that's a GM part number...try it out on GMPartsDirect.com and it should come up. If you swing by your local dealer with that PN they *might* even have the part in stock.
