I want to take my throttle body spacer off of the truck...I know, I'm going to loose 12hp or so
, but it has to come off. One of the spacers for the throttle linkage is broken, and I'm having trouble with the tranny shifting correctly. I had read that the throttle cable being out of alignment could cause this, so I wanted to check this out.
Only problem is that I can't find the stinking factory TB screw-in studs. I've looked everywhere, and they are nowhere to be found. I checked with GM, and they are a non-serviceable item. The only way that you can get them is with the purchase of an intake manifold. Grrrrr.
Does anyone have any extra studs laying around that they aren't using? Or another solution? I'm really in a bind here.

I have not checked, but you should be able to buy that stud. Again, I have not checked and you have...but every schematic I have seen on the computer at dealers out here list numbers next to bolts so you can get them.
If no luck with getting another one, head over to a harware store (ACE Hardware has the best misc. bolts selection) and find yourself a long metric bolt. It will work - it just won't be a stud

I checked with the dealer and they cannot be ordered. My parts guy even called GM to see if there was a way to get them, and they said no.
I really don't want to go guessing on the length/thread/size etc. This is going to drive me up a friggin wall!

You will probalbly gain 12 hp taking it off.
I don't know what longer studs look like. Could you just cut them down, or maybe find some threaded rod at the hardware store that is the same size and use that?

First try to make a new bracket out of aluminum. If that doesnt work try PEP Boys and get some bolts like the ones that came with the spacer, only 1" shorter. Should cost a whole $0.30
