Default Need help with 95 1500 trans....

A friends got a 95 that won't shift past 2nd. It wouldn't shift at all until he changed the fluid and filter. When he changed the fluid he noticed had a bad front seal in the trans.

Whould that make it not change into 3rd?
What might be the problem?
How much to rebuild?
How much to buy a rebuilt trans?

Thanks

Thruck has 150K miles if it matters.

Sounds like an overhaul is needed Its also a pcm contrlled tran = more $$. Have a trans shop check it out & maybe you'll luck out. If not some guys will rebuild if you r&r to save money. You are in the $1500 range for one of these r&i & o/h. Give or take a few .

The tranny in my 99 taHOE is slipping 2-3 and 3-4 and it's gettng redone for $1000 including install.

All my estimates were $1000-1500 FYI.

Might want to take it to a reputable tranny place and see if they can pull up codes... If it does not shift maybe an accumulater is bad.
