Default need advice please

ok my 4.8 its a 2003 the lifters are going bad i what to swamp the engine but its my dd to work and back so i don't what to blow out in gas so it would be a food idea to switch for a 5.3 or not ? i know it been covered before but i don't know what to really do?

right now i have the pacesetters long tubes,Volant Cold Air Intake, spacer air raid,no cats y pipe, magana flow, every thing else is stock

where can u find a 5.3 low mileage and low price in Houston?

if some can do the swap in Houston let me know and the price thanks

$10 says it's header tick he's hearing lol. My pacesetters make me think my motor is shitting all over itself, but everything is fine so I keep on driving it.

in the mornings its piston slap which is completely normal. After warming up (depending on how loud it is) it's likely just your headers resonating the valvetrain noise. Headers are thin and allow more noise to escape.
It could also be an exhaust gasket. Did you use the paper gaskets or stick with your stock GM metal gaskets?

a sound clip would really help but yeah "Chevy tick" is normal. My pistons slap hard first thing in the morning. Do what I do, turn up the music!
