If you don't have headers I have a Futral cam with a larger split duration fror sale that would work well with the stock exhaust manifolds. Depending on your mods a 2,600 - 3,000 stall would work well.

tell us somemore about your truck.. is it 4x4? ext cab? Do you tow with the truck or is it just a DD that you want more power out of?

a good average small cam would be a 210/218 114 or 112lsa for more lope

a good middle of the road cam would be a 218/220ish on 114

a big cam for a truck is getting in the 222/222+ range

of coarse the bigger you go, the more lope and idle issues. I have a 220/220 114 in mine and with tuning you can barely hear the lope. But it drives great! Also, with any cam you will need a stall. If you slap a big cam in and no stall, then most VW beetles will eat you off the line LOL.

WCCH over on the right has some good stage 1 heads for around 700-800bucks.. good for 20hp and 25tq

hope this helps

That's the big question, my brother! Most places that I contacted were estimating 20-22 hours for a heads/cam swap. I finally found a guy locally who did it for about half what everyone else was going to charge, but I had to leave my truck with him for a week or so.

Good luck!

Default where in NC

hey buddy! where in NC did you get it done at? I live in Webster, NC about 50miles west of Asheville, NC. Do you know where that is? i dont want to go to far to get it done because of time/money getting there. What rpm stall do you have in your truck? how much did it cost to your install done?? thanks for your help!

I'd say a 3200 stall and a 222/222 or 224/224 cam is what you want

depends on what you want to spend

if you lived in Va me and another guy do that work and charge about half what the city people charge.. links in sig

we are getting ready to drop a 5.3 in a truck and take out a 4.8 this weekend
