Default na 5.3 choices need advice

Whats the stock deck height on a 5.3 trying to figure compression, .05 milled seems to be enough to get around 10.5:1 is this right?

Whats the largest size valve that can go without replacing seats and being shrouded?

thickness of stock gm gasket?

Which cam would you pick for an na 5.3 10.5-10.8 to 1 compression, larger valves, slight polish, springs good to .6
truck has 3k stall and 3.73 gears, ext cab z71 weight around 5300 lbs.

Been looking around 218 to 224 duration 112 lsa; thinking .53X to .57X should be good on lift

this is an everyday driver want to keep power between 2k and 6.3k

I dont know about the Compression.. but alot of poele seem to really like the

Thunder Racing .224 .224 .551 .551 112 or 114

I think recently someone put down 40rwhp with that one... maybe higher...

I got 30rwhp from the comp 212-218-552-559-114

What size valve are you looking to fit? A 2'' could possibly be squeezed. Possibly. You may have to open up the chamber a bit.

I'd use the stock 1.89 valve. It's more than capable.

What type of exhaust do you plan on running? Also, what rpm do you want this camshaft to peak at?

This may help in your valve diameter choosing.

Exhaust valve diameter = (Bore * .9211) – Intake valve diameter
X = (3.79 * .9211) - 1.89
X = 1.6 exhaust valve.

the valves are 2" and 1.55" its as large as I could go without replacing seats, I need to go with a comp cam I get a deal on them. I was looking at comps
xr273hr 220/224 530/534
or
xr275 222/224 566/568 both are 112 lsa

I would like to go with the 275 but worried about piston to valve with the 50 thousands off the heads, I know 5.3 pistons are dished and Im thinking it should provide enough clearance. what do you guys think?

sportside: I dont want to turn more than 6500 rpms, as far as bottom end Id go as high as 2000, the 3k stall should make up for it
