I've been thinking about the 22" Magnaflow, or maybe an 18" Mag...I also have Corsa on my mind, as every Corsa exhaust that I've heard has been awesome, only I haven't heard just their muffler in a non-catback system. I don't like the Borlas that I've heard...sounds too much like a European race car to me. Oh yea, eventually the truck will have a heads/cam LQ9, and the muffler must be stainless steel.

Suggestions?

*EDIT* Uh, it looks like Corsa still only offers full systems, I didn't see just mufflers on their website

...think I'll add a 3" cutout
I'm w/. Tyler, straight pipe with the big ole redneck tips out the back will fit the end user.

Oh, Duh...sorry to post 3 times in a row (I'm a post ***** anyway), but I forgot to mention,...why I want to gut the cats...it's not for more sound, or even for performance, but for A/F monitoring I want to run dual widebands in the rear O2 locations, and get a SoCal Diesel dual gauge mount for the gauges The widebands will be useless behind cats. This way, when the inspector sticks the mirror under my truck, the cats are there, O2's are there, and I'm golden. OBDII plug in, and "let me put the new inspection sticker on so it's straight please"

So the setup will be:
StainlessWorks LT's and gutted cat y-pipe
Dual widebands
DMH cutout
Whatever Magnaflow will fit behind it
May run tailpipe over axle as this may be loud...may have to run a 14" muffler.

...climbed under there and did some measuring...the 18" may not fit with a cutout in front of it...

Probably work this out at the same time as the engine swap since the truck will be down anyway...
If u need 14" for space, why are u sellin your 14" Magnaflows?

We know of your postwhore ways.
We gotta talk bout this on w/e. I got a proposal for u that may assist u in incorporating some of these ideas. I really like your plan, well, most of it. Want some Flowmasters?

Cody, did u run either Corsa setup w/o tailpipe? Got any clips if u did? Billy, get whichever Corsa Cody doesn't want. All the cool guys run Corsa.

I'd say Hooker Aerochamber IMO, I really like the way they sound. Not real loud but has a nice tone that's perfect for a LS engine.

Those are 4" round mufflers, kinda like Magnaflow bullets, and I have 2 of them as I was planning to run a dual system, but now I think I want to go to a single system...pretty sure that those 14" 4" round Mags that I have will be fairly loud. I think that I'd really prefer 3.5" pipe, but that won't jive with the y-pipe on my StainlessWorks...although I guess that could always be custom made...

Thanks for the input Stroker...I like the sound clips of Aerochambers that I've heard also...do they come in stainless steel?

Hey, I know this is a long shot, but does anybody have the Magnaflow 3" cutout shown here: http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/d...rtnumber=10785 and if so, could you measure it's length for me? Thanks!

*EDIT* another question...how about Magnaflow's XL Turbo mufflers? I know that the 3 chamber design won't have the flow characteristics of a straight through, but I'll have the cutout for that

Well, after more thought, think I'll spend a little more dough and have it all welded up and have a pipe run over the rear and dumped after the axle...don't want it to be too loud when the cutout's closed. I was hoping to get away cheaper with band clamps and such, but the dump pipe won't seal with the parts I have ....now to find a reputable shop that does mandrel bends and can weld stainless...or just get the pipes off of the internet and have them welded together....

If you are looking for lengths of pipe, I can get you stainless already welded, shipped to your house. Example, 3" 18ga for $10 per foot. Pm me if your interested.

Like a 3" pipe that's already fit to go over the axle?

Straight only. I can go as far as a Y for the cutout, but no nice smooth bends.

You can buy the factory "over axle" pipe from napa, bring that with the straight SS pipe and have them match it, then return the napa pipe. Just an idea.
