Oh, Duh...sorry to post 3 times in a row (I'm a post ***** anyway), but I forgot to mention, in my long winded first post, why I want to gut the cats...it's not for more sound, or even for performance, but for A/F monitoring I want to run dual widebands in the rear O2 locations, and get a SoCal Diesel dual gauge mount for the gauges The widebands will be useless behind cats. This way, when the inspector sticks the mirror under my truck, the cats are there, O2's are there, and I'm golden. OBDII plug in, and "let me put the new inspection sticker on so it's straight please"

So the setup will be:
StainlessWorks LT's and gutted cat y-pipe
Dual widebands
DMH cutout
Whatever Magnaflow will fit behind it
May run tailpipe over axle as this may be loud...may have to run a 14" muffler.

I just jump started my truck for an Easter air out and quick run around the block until the trans starts effing up, and climbed under there and did some measuring...the 18" may not fit with a cutout in front of it...sooo, we'll see.

Probably work this out at the same time as the engine swap since the truck will be down anyway...

I did not know that...I'll see what they cost, I do love the Corsa sound I have a feeling that it will be out of my budget though...

Corsa mufflers wont drone no matter what type of tailpipe is after it and even if it isnt in the corsa catback. Id wait for a muffler to come up for sale in the classifieds. You absolutely cant beat the sound IMO.

Okay, I have a few things to add.

First, with the 18" magnaflow and no (gutted cats), you will turn heads. I do, never been ticketed, but its only been a few months. I am running LTs, dual 3" pipes into an 18" oval magnaflow, 2.5 in/out, then through pipes and out in the stock location through dual 4" tips. My truck is LOUD.

Second, I called Corsa in december, they said they discontinued the DB series because they only want to offer full systems, that are tuned specifically for absolutely no drone. They don't want some hack with a welder and a Corsa universal to weld it up and have drone attached to their name. If you can get your hands on one, grab it, they will not be around much longer.

I am thinking of changing to these, Pypes Violators.

Watch the 03 z06 videos. In the two in car vids, they are measuring dB levels. They sound good. I was really considering these, but decided with the magnaflow. Its too loud IMO.
