damn, i raced 01 silverado today since he got the new hypertech on and the only stoplight race we got from 0-90 it was even then he pulled me in third gear. i was spinning CRAAZZYYYYYY (converter + bald tires) and he was spinning bad too (open differential)

wouldnt be that bad, but i have a converter on my truck and also long tube headers. i guess ill need to look at my tuning sometime and get new tires. but even then, that wouldnt make up for headers or converter.

I have a '99. I guess the 6.0L cam really does make a difference on newer trucks. But, it may just be the huge traction problem (i can get about a quarter sideways on the street). Traction just sounds like your problem, too.

 

yah, that is a major problem right now, i only had 22 psi in my tires and i was on the street and i spun as much as him with 30psi in his tires on an open differential. but traction wasnt the biggest problem, cause he didnt pull me till top end.

but either way, he put out more horsepower than me and hp wise i have hamm headers on top of what he has. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

i know my truck isnt THAT bad though though (for a 4.8L at least) but i think he just got a hell of a factory freak

 

HAHA!! thanx for puttin up the post Bryan... I guess I am lucky to have a great engine from the factory, minus the piston slap <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> . Get some tuning done and we will see how urs compares to mine then. I feel kinda bad for beating you lol, you have almost a grand more on the engine than I do. I hope we can get the glitches fixed on ur truck. Next time we run I might have pulley's or the 3:73's w/ the locker <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> .
