Default My truck is on the road again !

I got this 'ol heap running last Friday morning and have put about 300 miles on it so far. The oil pressure is awesome, it has no noises or rattles, and it just "feels" good.

I am a little disappointed with the cam, its about 1 notch bigger than what I had before so I expected some good lope, but the damn thing sounds almost stock-it is really smooth.

It feels like it runs about the same as it did with the stock motor but I haven't really pushed it yet. I don't have a laptop to tune with right now so I am running on the old tune and the LM-1 says it is like 10.5-10.8 at WOT plus the shift points are too low so there is definitely some more left in there. I am just happy to have it back on the road.

Sounds good, can't wait to see it in BG this year.

What kind of ETs are you hoping for?

Thanx guys. I am going to put a few more miles on it then dyno tune then go to the track. I am really hoping for 7.50 in the 1/8th and maybe 6.80 or so on the spray. That's about 3 tenths better than the previous setup was running with stock heads and a smaller cam, so we will see....

Yeah, I wish you the best also ! I am trying to wait at least til the first oil change to be very hard on it this time. All these motors are about to catch up to me $$ wise. I would like to see this one live a long healthy life.

With that said, I must admit that tonight is test and tune night at the local track and the weather is supposed to be good.......I am trying to convince myself to just ride the bike up there and test the new mods to it instead of taking the truck. We will see how my willpower goes !

OK, so I hauled the bike to the track tonite on the trailer behind the truck and then I ran them both

I decided not to take the sticky tires so the passes I made were on the Firestone Indy 500's. It went a best of 8.01 with the 60 ft around 2.06. The MPH is up from where it was with the other motor (91.07 tonite) so it is definitely making more power now. Using these numbers, my calculations say it will go 7.60 on race tires. This is on a bad tune with a 10.5 to 1 A/F at about 8 psi.

My dry shot usually picks her up about 10 mph in the 1/8th so with spray I should be over 100mph (finally) Maybe my long term goal of 6.xx in the 1/8th is about to be met.....

All in all I was very pleased and can't wait to get my new laptop so I can throw a tune on it.
