I decided to tear her down today. I need to get the loose converter tightened and I have a new Magnaflow waiting to be installed.
Plus I am skeered after seeing the recent pics of driveshaft woes, so I am going to upgrade that while it is down also.
I took the converter out today and it is probably a good thing-I see scorching of the paint in the front where the clutches are. I think I know where the excessive flash I was seeing on the dyno was coming from now. I am hoping Yank can do something to make the clutch hold my power, otherwise I may go with a Precision like Parish did. I am sending it off on Monday, so I am anxious to see what they say.
I am hoping to have it together and ready to go for Super Chevy in Memphis in about 5 weeks.

I will snap a couple pics tomorrow before I box it up. Has anybody on here installed a pinion yoke on their 8.6 rearend to accept a 1350 series u-joint? I was told that one for a 8.5 wouldn't work because of a seal issue. I researched the spec section of the rearend book at the parts store this morning and it looks like the OD of the pinion seal for a 8.5 is the same as the 8.6 but the ID is different. I think a 8.5 yoke would work if a 8.5 pinion seal is used. Anybody else run into this?

BadZ-the order for the new shaft is going in tomorrow!
Whitt-so the precision only has 3 bolts? I already have a 6 bolt flexplate monkified to fit the Yank. But I can always get another 4l60 one if I hafta.
Sleeper-I could brake stall it to 4500 just sitting in the driveway-WAY too loose. I am hoping for so ET improvements when I get it dialed in. So you just put a 1350 series pinion yoke on without any issues? Cool thats what I wanted to hear.
