Not sure if this was mentioned already but I want to swap that Ford 9" rear end under the truck as well. My Nova obviously had leaf springs and a factory 10 bolt but then had a Ford 9" with a spool and racing axles modified to fit under there. So they had some leaf spring pads welded underneath to sit on top of the leaf springs on the Nova. Same situation on my truck. I wanna take that old 10 bolt out and set that Ford 9" on top of the leaf springs and bolt everything up just like the Nova including the traction bars. I measured and everything seems to be the exact on both. 42.5" from center of pad on the 9" to the center of pad on the other side and 42.5" to the center of the leaf springs on the truck. Or 45" from outer leaf spring edge to the other side. This in turn will also be considered a "flip kit" because I'm going from the axle under the leaf springs to on top. How much is this going to lower the rear of the truck 6"? If it's just like a flip kit swap then it should be around 6" then that tells me I should lower the front 4" right? 2" spindles and 2" coils?

Here's a pic of how it was on my Nova:

Anything Ford related should be discarded IMO. Not because they won't work but because I'm baised. That's all I had to say, thank you for your time! Good luck with the rear-end swap!

a spring under will lower it 6" or a little more depending on your springs. Are you going to run some track bars?

That's what I thought about 6". Yea I have some traction bars going on it. I know I'll have to take the bump stops out to give it more room but hopefully I will not have to c-notch the frame.

you'll have to flip the center pin in the springs also, c clamp the springs before you start unbolting them, there's also some shimms that are between the leaves, you might want to replace those also

I think it's over board, that's more for lowered trucks . . .
