Why do you need the fans to come on high with the A/C? Most cars have fans come on low for A/C. I'll do some testing when I put mine on but, turn on low at 185 and high at 210 should work fine with a 180 t-stat. The stock fan at idle can't move any more air than those 05 fans on low, and the A/C works great at idle on a stock truck. Most cars I've worked on only use high speed on the fans when the car is getting really hot, like 225+.

Unfortunately, the fan controls in the stock computer are limited on the trucks. You have to get by using only settings for one fan so it makes it kinda hard to adjust the high/low settings for all situations and temps.

Nice post Creederado.

You will need an alternator. I did the swap without one, and am ordering mine tomorrow. You will be ok when only one fan is on, or both fans are on low, but when the both kick on high your voltage will drop down to around 12v
is this a 05 e-fans pecific problem? the flex-a-lite i just got runs fine on the 105 alt. with ac on, the radio, highs and low beams, and the radio at a decent sound level my lights dont even twitch when the fans kick on. im guessing both fans kick in at 100% when they come on. on the other hand my electric windows kick my altinators ***. i still plan on a 145 though just to be on the safe side.

nice looking setup though. cant say i would have spent that much money on it though

I don't know for sure, but I know that with my 05 fans voltage drops way down. Mabye some others with ls1 fans can chime in.

Faze2183- will that SHROUD fit the 5.3 rad???
No you need the 6.0 Rad, (34" wide) to make it fit as the factory intended.
There clips on the side that the fan slides into. Also There's three rubber bushings that slide into the radiator support along the bottom.

No drop the last 2, It must of stuck when I was typing the next line.
Sorry good catch.
correct is 89023367
89023366
Theres two of them, I edited it above.

STALL SPEED-
I"ll be installing mine in a couple of weeks. $212 fully assembled brand new fans,$49 for 6.0 radiator off ebay,Nelson harnes WITH correct connectors $89. Total:$350
It's alot, but $49 for a Radiator is awesome and very rare.
Consider yourself very lucky. Most of us here get them from the barn for 300!!
The cheapest I found on the fans was $266 delivered.
I ended up paying 270 at the dealer. tax icluded. 212 is awesome as well.
Allen is awesome, he's including the connectors now with his harness.
I payed almost $40 for both a month ago., before they were available.

Nice shot of the manual switch, I was gonna put it in the same place.
The Alt helped out a lot, especially with my mild stereo, Unnoticable voltage drop now. even with the lights on.
The Alt pulley sits approx 3/8 higher than my stock 105. I got the slightly longer belt off a 2003 Denali in which the alt cam from. Its only 1/2 longer but it works good. The stock belt was real tight after the ALT swap.

On my 99 I have a ASP Crank pulley and went with the 145 Alt.
I used Gates belt k060900 to fit.

Thanks for the post and the part numbers. I have my fans and my radiator should be here today. I need to get the alternator and harness and then I'll be installing mine.

Did you use the 2-realy or the 3-relay Nelson Harness?

3 realy.
I used his supplied pigtail to tap in the pcm lead for a manual swicth.
1 wire to the swicth and all you have to do is provide a ground for the fans to come on. So when the swicth is on it completes the ground.

I was going to pigtail the A/C wire in the harness but choose not to. If you use the A/C wire run a wire to a switch and provide a small 12V+ source and a ground as well.
The cigarette lighter 12V+ wire was suggested to me.

It took me a minute to figure it out at first but the guys hepled me out.

-12V for the pcm tap
+12V for the AC tap.
