Default my iron 5.7 build

ok i have a 2003 rcsb with 4.3 doin a 5.3 swap. 5.3 block boring it out to 3.898 with ls6 pistons and rods.going to run 317 heads with yellow springs. going to run a ls2 cam that has the same specs as z06. i have the ls2 cover, timing set and oil pump. run ls7 lifters. all this is going into a 04+ block. how much hp do you think this combo will make? also whats the difrence in gasket sets for the year models? i see them listed for certian model or can you use almost any year model gasket set?

Are you going boost? With 317 you'll have low compression.

the later years use MLS.. Multi layer steel gaskets.. older ones can use the permatorques.... nit sure if you can use older on newer but I didn't try it. Just pay the $65 a piece and get the MLS... also head bolts change in 04 and up blocks.... heads dont matter it is the block to worry about

JERMOSLIN is correct you will lose compression with 317's great for boost but not for N/A or nitrous

well i would like to go boost but might be a while before that. did some calculation and if im right it should be around 9.5.1 compression. does this sound correct with stock gasket thickness?
