my dynojet runs, with tuning
#11
TO me if you want big numbers go to a dyno jet, if you want true accurate numbers go to a loading dyno like a mustang dyno.. which im not saying you cant tune with a inertia dyno, a dyno is mainly a tuning device aslong as you are making gains is wants counts. there are alot of factors between dynos and the days you dyno, you got the weather, humidity and temperature to deal with , we have seen 25 hp loss between different days, with the mods i got i put out 230 hp and 256 tq with out nitrous and stock my hp was 185 along with 4 other stock trucks like mine on our mustang dyno

well, maybe the numbers are not correct, but i used it for tuning purposes, started with a low stock number, and brough it up with tuning. untill it couldnt get any higher, and adjusting it anymore dropped my figures. im not extremely knowledgeable on dyno;s,, not sure what a mustang dyno is. but, im happy and impressed. i still havent been able to get that graph up yet, lemme try again

But still, the numbers are not your real numbers. As for what a mustang dyno is:
It is a "loaded" dyno. Which means it dials in weight, and other things on your vehicle that allow it to show you the power you're putting down on the street. It counts EVERYTHING to give you the most accurate numbers possible. It is a heck of a lot better than the dyno jet and many others will vouge for that!

i guess ur right man, next time ill get a pencil, and draw a few lines on graph paper, and roll dice to randomly make up some kind of numbers, maybe that might be more accurate.

Dude im with you red BigRed, if it gives you a baseline and you can tune from there It'll do the job. True the Dynojet gives higher numbers than a Mustang Dyno but it is accurate to itself and you can track your progress. If your only purpose is for a Dyno war someone will always use the Mustang > Dynojet arguement.

i agree with that bro, im sure if u use a dyno jet, vs a mustang, their might be a
big hp difference, but as long as the "gains" for your tune remain the same between both systems, it shouldnt matter, as long as your getting the most performance out of your truck u can, who gives a crap. but i feel u man

looks like a glitch in the run. look at the torque spike where it picks up after the loss of the timing reference. by my calculations with that torque spike (330lb/ft) at approx 4800, your HP should equal 301.

Congrats on the numbers
. And for those that want to knock his numbers because they were on a dynojet, thats a crappy thing to do. Since dyno jet numbers are so "fake" I'm sure my truck is only making really around 200rwhp since I have mine tuned and dynoed on a dynojet

In the lower HP #s say under 300rwhp there is not a huge differenc ebwteen dynos unless you tweak the calibrations. In general though dynojets can be higher than what a loaded dyno would register but thee are a lot of factors involved.
I take dyno #s with a grain of salt though. I've seen a lot of cars dyno high and trap really low even with different drivers. *shrug*
Liek stated above. The #s are almost irrelivent(sp?), it's the gains that count. So if you started off with 250rwhp and ended up with 280rwhp then you are on the right track as long as you rule out spikes and such. Good work man
