Check PepBoys if you have one near by. Don't ask me why, but they always have the largest selection of engine paint colors.

got my chevy orange. once the block is machined ill get her painted and assembled with pics. anyhow on to more important questions. what cam to buy? i want a nice choppy idle. thinking 112 LSA. but with 11:1 compression what else should i look at. i have a 3400 rpm stall 4.10:1 gears. i want the most power i can make. any and all suggestions are welcome.

Unless you can find on that you like off the shelf. haha

But yea I always recommend Pat G. He was great to me when he spec'd my cam. Also he has worked closely with Tony Mamo who built a badass 383 a few years back. You should find that thread over on ls1 and give it a read. There is a lot of good information in that thread for anyone building a 383.

I'd say a 230/234 on a 112. Would still have some torque to get a truck moving but would scream up high.

231/239 621/624 110+4 is the cam id go with and gl on the build btw

Isn't this a cathedral port build? If so, I'd go with little to no split.

Not looking to open a huge debate but a little extra exhaust duration won't hurt and will allow for some extra gains should he ever want to try nitrous. I'd like to see what Pat G would recommend, however.
