Default my 1st g-tech time

well, let me 1st say that the g-tech comp is a neat toy. here are my 1st times ever recorded on my truck. right off the bat my truck was a dog getting out of the hole. alot of hesitation. i didn't have my left foot on the brake, just stompped on the accelerator so i didn't misfire the g-tech too early. so i knew my 60' time was going to be ****. i only made one run. it's dark out plus i got work in the morning. here goes:

1/4 15.499 sec at 91.83 mph
60' 2.430 sec
1/8 10.066 sec at 72.69 mph
60mph 7.299 sec

207.7 HP at 5330 RPM
239.2 TQ at 3319 RPM

i have the HPP3 tuned for 87, plus i have a full tank, outside temp is 45*

Blah, stop your complaining I just ran my 99 Z71 with 130,000 miles, all the free mods, and a homemade intake and got 0-60 in 9.00 and the quarter mile in 16.9 at 83.5 mph Its the old Gtech so no 60ft times or 1/8 mile. It sounds like you have a very strong truck man It will get better with a little practice as well. Have fun

Hmmmmm. Those times look to be better than your truck should run. I ran the 1/8th many different times a few years ago and my average times were about - 2.5 60', 10.4xx @ 69 mph. That is with several mods but I also had 33" tires that hurt my 60' some. The only way I can see that those times are right is if you have 4.10 gears.

Anyone else? I think fairly stock extended cab Z71s run in the mid 16s.

my time stock was 16.7, with your short list of mods i would be real happy with anything in the 15's.

number one rule with those gtech is a flat road or average times in oposite directions over the same section. let us know what your numbers are when you make more runs.

You should try a 4HI launch...this is the only way I can get a good launch at the track....just don't try it around a corner and make sure all four tires are the same dia....what I usually do is drop it back into 2WD (manual transercase shifter) after the 60 foot mark...also easier on the rear end as it splits the torque between the diffs...same power is going through the transercase so breaking that is not an issue...done it over 50 times on the street with no issues Even Lingenfelter does in on his built 4x4 trucks

Truck runs about .5 quicker in 4HI compared to 1/4 mile runs in 2WD and these are actual track runs no g-tech/tazzo runs...check out my runs here:

All the 96K1500 files are on my truck

Should have the built 383 engine in by next month...waiting on getting my heads back which are being cc'ed
