Rather than single into dual tailpipes, like is so popular for some reason?

That's kinda what way I am headed, so I can do away with the Flowmaster altogether. Just hate to trash the sweet "dual/dual" tailpipe job that the muffler shop did.

That's the plan. I still have the section of "I" pipe that I cut out to install the AeroChamber inline. I want to re-install the pipe back in place, cut the Flowmaster out and replace it with the AeroChamber, then simply clamp on a Summit 3" tailpipe. I stumbled across the tailpipe for like $45...it's a replacement part of their 3" single kit.

edit*

It seems the Summit tailpipe is no longer offered separately.
Magnaflow makes one for $53, but then $19 shipping for oversized and then their $11 "handling" fee makes it not a great deal...I may just cut out the Flowmaster and replace it with this:

Then I'll get to keep my custom tails, and eliminate the Flowmaster still

Do you think I will loose much by staying with the stock muffler? When I say loose much I mean tq in the usable range, high rpm horsepower does not do much to help get a heavy AV moving.

I personally think you'd be fine with using a stocker, especially considering your goal.

I found that Magnaflow tailpipe for $53.xx shipped from one of the links on Magnaflow's website...I can go down to the garage and check the shipping label on the pipe if you want...

I talked to Magnaflow and they suggested there largest muffler(22").

Also, I am looking to gain tq in the low and mid range, so I am assuming the 1 5/8 headers will be better then the 1 3/4.

Thanks, Kelly
I think you can use the exhaust effectively. But, I wonder because 22" muffler is large enough in your car. I agree in your good choice of headers.
