I have the 22" magnaflow on my tahoe, no LT's though, and my tahoe might be quieter than stock. I like it though, no drone on the highway, but that is also partly due to the fact that I cut 18" off of my tailpipe (as I understand it, drone is caused by the section of tailpipe after the muffler vibrating, so the shorter that is, the higher the RPM its natural frequency is).

I think andrew383 had a 22" magnaflow on his TBSS with catless LT's and had a sound clip of it, sounded good. I couldn't find the link though.

Magnaflow/borla XR1 + dynomax bullet would sound good imo, or a hooker aerochamber with a bullet in front of it.

my hooker aerochamber nor several buddies dont drone nor rasp...very smooth under acceleration. This is on a 6.0 with longtubes and catless....

As far as the "Ebay" (fake OBX) headers, yes, they are all 1-5/8" primaries.

As for quiet (not too loud) catback with longtubes, I originally had a Flowmaster one into two and it was so raspy and droned so bad, that I couldn't take it. I tried a Summit "Bullet" muffler, which helped but didn't eliminate it like I had hoped. I finally added a Hooker Aerochamber center in/center out muffler where the Bullet was, and truck sounds exactly like I had hoped. Zero drone, Zero rasp, quiet at cruise rpm on highway, yet plenty loud enough at WOT...

I wanted more low/midrange power as well since my truck is still....well, a truck that hauls and tows, and not a drag raced vehicle, so the 1-5/8" headers/2.5" collectors and quiet catback suits me great. FWIW, I got a very noticeable increase in low/midrange just by adding some backpressure via the AeroChamber...The Flowmaster, as much as it is hated here, basically does nothing to quiet the exhaust by itself...it literally sounded like an open cutout IMHO, so I'd not believe it (by itself) is any sort of flow restriction. On my setup, it's more of a resonator, if that, and the AeroChamber does all the noise suppression.

Here's two vids, one in cab with windows up that shows quiet cruise at 65mph, and one from behind revving (in a closed building so louder than actual IMO). No cats BTW...

p.s. Brakelights flashing on revs are from my bigass feet with EEE width metatarsal work boots hitting everything, LMAO!!!

In all honesty, if I were you I'd leave the stock catback (muffler and all) in place and see how it sounds to you before buying any muffler. I wish I would have done so myself...probably would have saved myself $500 or so...

22...hard to find nowadays...

i also just installed a 22 magnaflow on my 08 silverado with a 5.3, airaid jr kit and nelson tune...i also cut off part of the tailpipe to like bottom of spare tire...so it just goes over axle and dumps down...this sounds as quiet or quieter than stock as tahoez71 stated above which i am glad...may want to try the magnaflow 22, i think you will like it...good luck and keeps us posted...

Sounds good! You run single 3" pipe, don't you?
Rather than single into dual tailpipes, like is so popular for some reason?

Noise does not equal flow...there used to be a big list around here, that compared a bunch of different mufflers and straight pipe for both noise decibel level and flow...can't remember the Db order, but as far as flow, the Flowmaster mufflers compared were at the bottom of the list for both flow numbers and horsepower numbers. Granted there was less than a 10hp difference from the best to the worst, but there was a difference nonetheless. Also, from what I remember, the straight pipe had the highest flow numbers, but not the highest horsepower numbers.
