motor swap questions

Default motor swap questions

whats up yall, i just wanted to know how much money and how difficult is it to swap a 5.3l to 6.0.........i have a regular cab 2wd with 373 gears, and would love to put a blown 6.0 in my pickup.........if i do go with this setup i know i need to get a 4l80e with upgrades.......last question would be how do i go aboput getting the motor or tranny.....thanks for the help......ultimatly i want heads cam blown 6.0 in my litttle regular cab

No problems, all the external dimensions are identical even on the car motors. Gotta love GM for that!
Only possible issue would be if you found a 99 model 6.0L motor. They had a slightly different crankshaft flywheel mount that was thicker ( by about 0.200" or so ). It can cause issues mounting the tranny.
Moneywise, the 6.0L motors are getting harder to find great deals on but with patience and looking you can get a motor/tranny for around $2000 on up.

Try www.car-part.com. I would try to find a 6.0L/4L80-e combo out of a 2wd if you can.
