Cylinder Head looks to be repairable, at least in the cc area. A new/used core might be cheaper though.

I think its from the way the truck intake is configured.

Damn man that sucks. Any idea as to what caused it? Were you logging while it happened?

Not a clue ... prolly the ticking time bomb that it was. 7k shifts was sure to catch up with me sooner or later. I'm hoping to have the engine out before long, then I'll start the tear down.

Is this the same motor that ran 11's, was it rebuilt how many mile of abuse did it take?

I saw a honda 4cyl eat a plug one time, guy came in with a strange sound turns out the plug ground strap and electrode had fallen out and the end that connects to the wire had blown off, all the compression was blowing out through the hollowed spark plug. Put a new one in, cranked right up ran fine I couldnt believe how lucky the guy was.

Thats right. These intakes causes "leaning" of the back cylinders. It is because all of the air is just pushed straight back to the back of the intake instead of being fead through runners and dumped directly into each individual cylinder.

02, I wish I was that lucky. Looking at the sylinder though, and the amount of rattling it was doing. No way. I'll know soon enough though. I'm a hand full of bolts away from pulling the motor.
