Nevertheless it should run well.

For future notice, don't post what you have just bought without running it unless you plan on "why didn't you do this, or why didn't you do that post"

Sounds like a strong set-up!

lets see.... we had a cam similar to the tsp tv2 in it with ls7 lifters 918s. wasnt even shifting high maybe 6400rpms. was out testing the day before the show. on my 5th launch i lost oil pressure motor shut off after the 2nd gear shift and dump oil everywhere.

pulled it apart.... oil pan full of internals....cylinder wall chunks, rod bolts, rods, rod pins, piston parts, rod bolt stamped the oil pickup tube perfectly. so much debris. i never seen a block just fall apart like that. the messed up the crank, bent our new cam, bent push rods, bent a few valves. front two cylinders just gone. pulled heads off and the pistons where in there wedged crooked

this could of happend to any motor but im not a fan of 98s personally

Carniage is hard to put to words so I'll just take your word for it. The most vulnerable part in a stock ls1 short block would be the pistons if you asked. That can cause all kinds of failure but if they were in tact then you would have to look elsewhere.

those are definately some serious carnage pics but little can be seen about the block in those pics. Not saying you are wrong cause clearly the piston/pistons were cocked, I have read the 97-98's were weaker and this is the closest think I have seen of pics but still not convincable. But I have nothing to put up that they are not weak so please take my words as just being a skeptic not fact.

yea kinda hard but you can see some. i didnt take the pics i was busy ripping into a 210,xxx mile 6.0 to use for the backup motor. thats what won the show. a 6.0 out of a flooded towtruck. swapped springs, couple cans of carb cleaner to help get sludge out of motor. a few gallons of water to flush the collant system and 50 weight oil to make our passes and take home the oppeants car

show will air around oct of this year so keep eye out. they love the name Quik lol
