Default More CAI questions

Found this old thread while searching for pics of homemade CAI and Ram Air setups:

At the time, the Volants were losing power. Does anyone have any new Volant numbers and/or a more recent comparo? Also, what about the Air Raid MIT with a drop in filter, and possibly a home made ram air? I started looking into different routes other than my K&N after I had to modify it to clear my 34" radiator, but now I'm wondering if maybe I should just leave it alone since it seems to have the best numbers (at least it did about a year ago)

Bud,

I gained roughly 0.1 seconds with my ram air setup. I also recently tested the difference between a stock paper filter and a K&N drop in and the difference between an Airaid MIT and Stock tube. I saw no gains with either products (maybe a couple hundreds with the MIT, but I'm not positive).

I have no idea what the difference between the stock box with ram air and an open element air filter setup would show. But, I'm very happy with the setup I have now.

Jeff

unklej, when are you gonna be offering the ram air for the 99-02's? If I decide to just mod my factory air box, I'll probably go with something like what you did. It looks clean and factory installed...I like that

Something else...ya don't hear too much about the SLP CAI or the True Flow Intake tube and filter. They both appear to be decent

So does anybody have any experience with the TrueFlow or SLP units?
