Default Money To Spend, What Next? Help Guys!

Setup As of Now:

Regular Cab Stepside 4.8 Liter 5-Speed with headers, FIPK II, MAF Sensor, Diablo Predator, and 3.73 Eaton Posi Rear. 160 Thermostat, Flowmaster 2 3/4 "

My question is this: What next?? I've got 67k miles on it, and never use anything but mobil one oil, and I have been considering a supercharger, or this new turbo kit I've been hearing about, but I'm concerned about the longevity of my soon to be tired motor.

I'm leaning towards the NA route, but I don't know much about motor work PRICES. I'd like to put a different cam in it, some new heads, and perhaps stroke it out for some more cubes, but I can't decide what to do first, and in what order.

Also, I have considered just going for it, and doing the same swap another guy on here did, the 6.0 Liter + 6-speed tranny. I've only got about $4000 thus far, what do you think???

Any advice whether minor mods I'm missing or Major ones, let me know - I'm still running factory plugs at factory gap specs with factory wires . . .

Any help would be greatly appreciated . . .

Nitrous and a built tranny
A built engine will get very expensive. I would just go with a stock 6.0 (~$1500 used) and a built tranny(~$2500) if you want to be conservative about it. Throw some nitrous on there...then you will definitely need a built trans.

You could do a 6.0 swap, mild cam. I think as far as the 5 speed goes, either 6 speed and some 4.10's in the back or for cheapness, I think you can replace the man trans input shaft for a lt1 input shaft. Not sure if there the same with 5sp or 6 sp but I doing that with the 6 speeds will work, should on the 5's. The lt1 input shaft is stronger supposedly. Might want to think about a clutch if you build that 6.0. Most of all, have fun and keep posted.

Ok, just read your other post, didn't know the mans where nv's. I wonder if the nv4500 would fit? Really good man trans, I think first might be too low though. Have to check numbers.
