Ok i have an 03 silverado rcsb thats pretty much stock save for the muffler and tailpipe (40 series flowmasters and 2.5 in tail pipe with 4 in tips)... My question is what mods do i need to do that dont break the bank but would help me keep up with a stock mustang or ls1 trans am?? I was thinking of going with a spectre cai, nelson tune, and probably asp pulleys...any more ideas?

Well keeping up with a stock mustang and a LS1 is two different thing lol. Im a mustang guy at heart but you cant deny that a stock LS1 will rape a mustang.
Also, breaking the bank means different things with difference folks.

If you want to spend $500 total here ya go.
CAI, go on Ebay, get this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CHEVY...item3caea3ccc5
If you got manual fan, get electric fans(get a set from a car for cheap)

A tune will help for sure

when its time to spend a little more get some gears. thats my next mod.

I can't agree with you more on these mods. Plus with the gears get a Posi.

Honestly without knowing what you use your truck for whether it's street N Strip or Off Road.. this is what I'd suggest.

I have a street truck and I know that no tips and dumping the exhaust under the bed was a good move for me. Plus I have a DMH remote cutout, which makes my cammed 5.3 sound like a 6-Ohhh. Plus it makes the truck breath a little easier too.

I have mixed feelings on the tb and intake on the 5.3, with all the mods that I have done those are 2 that I stayed away from. We tried the tb,but just wasn't the right combo.

Definitely the tune, get that.

Lol good luck bud. There isn't a cheap way to make a truck fast unless you wanna spray the **** out of it.

Is it a 4.8 or 5.3?

Is this ride a daily driver, or is going to hit the track more than once a month?
Better yet, has the smack talk gotten so bad that your desparate for fast for little or no money? Guess what, it ain't happening.

So figure out whats going to get you the win on the track, or win with a female and let us know.
