Default M'kay 3/4 ton radiator is in

This swap was sooooooo easy it isn't even funny. Just a pull old, in with new. Those trans "quick disconnects" I got off without the use of excessive force OR that tool.

They are basically small E-Clips. So I got my bearclaws...er...hands in there with a few small screw drivers and popped them out! Pretty cool.

Look around before buying one of these beasts new, I picked mine up used for super cheap.

All for now.

Oh yeah...dexcool tastes weird...

I heard you were looking for the little removal tool, and I couldn't locate mine. Anyway, I just unscrewed the whole fitting, retaped it and screwed it back in on the new one.

Yeah I thought about doing that but those e-clips came out so easy it wasn't even funny! If I can quote Monty Python's - The Holy Grail... at the end at that Bridge of Death after the first guy passes the bridgekeeper's questions another guy yells "that's easy!" is this silly British accent.

Temps seem to be down a tad more also...haven't ATAP'd yet but the factory gauge reads a bit lower.

I did the same thing, and installed a 160* thermo. In the black truck it wouldn't hold 160* ahrdly ever, this one almost always does!

Those little bastard of a clip aren't E-clips. They act like E-clips in the way they like to get lost. I spent the next 2 hours searching the yard for it, as well as every little nock and cranny of the truck around where I lost it and was not able to find it. I ended up at the parts store looking for a new one. One of the parts guys sentme back with a package of E-clips. The package contained 3 of each various sized clips. The biggest one looked to be the best candidate. The first one we broke getting on, the second we stretched and bent beyond recognition. We ended up back at the parts store and finally found a whole transmission quick connect thing that came with the clip.

Other than that little incident, it was not a problem at all. Just be sure to check your transmission fluid after you get done.

UPDATE...

Coolant temps seem to be lower, at least that is what the factory gauge reads. No leaks and I think I burped the system properly.

Good mod if you live in a HOT *** climate...such as Texas
