Default Mileage of 4.8/5.3/6.0

Need some opinions guys...

I have a 99 silverado with a 6.0 and t56 with 4.56 gears.

Would it be wise to go back to the 4.8 with gas prices going up...

My 6.0 was mainly put in to tow my race car.

It would cost me about 650 buck to make the change back...

I would be leaving the the t56 and 4.56s in the truck.

What would be worth while?

100 miles more a tank? 200 miles more a tank?

You will waste more gas on the 4.8
Because lack torque...

the 6.0 should be getting very similar gas mileage, assuming it's stock and you don't drive around mashing it all the time.

my 4.8L always guzzled gas 15-18mpg.

I vote for changing the heads on the 6L to increase compression. That will help gas mileage
