Mine is mounted the same way,you need to tie the water pump away from the fans.

Mine is next to the radiator, covering up the mounting hole for the bigger radiator. Ripped, whitt .. what's keeping it from hitting te fans when you get on the brakes hard?

I am going to have to redo mine once I install that bigger radiator.

I thought it was a rather simple and straight forward install as well. I did mine with the help from a friend which helped drastically, but still .. it wasn't as much of a pain as it sounded like you are having.

Flyer,I used a couple of plastic ties to hold the pump away from the fan.

What did you tie the pump to to keep it from hitting them?

I ran a tie to a hole I drilled in the fan shroud on one side and to the alternator bracket on the other side.
