Default maybe it is the 4.8 that can! sickred thank ya sir!

after many hours of hard work the cam n heads are done! thank you very much jeff for all the help and knowledge!

specs
cam 220/224 .530 .534 112 lsa
heads 862 cast port polish 5 angle valve job, larger intake valve (2.00), milled .030, media blasted
springs ls6 mated to stock rockers pushing 7.4 hardened pushrods on ls7 lifters

everything seemed to go pretty well with the usuall bumps on the road. the drivers side is much more difficult to get done than the passenger side, atleast with pacesetter headers. im going to have pictures up tonight with a little more information and breakdown of the trouubles lol.

so far everything has held together well with almost 400 miles on it all. in case you were planning on using paper exhaust gaskets DONT! i have to take it all apart and gring my headers down to make it all stop leaking. very annoying and loud.

im hoping for some good results out of it and maybe some well respected numbers.

what do yall think of the setup?

who ported the heads? when you getting dyno/track numbers. do you have any before numbers?

EDIT. why didnt you get a cam with more lift since you have the ported heads?

this cam still pulls to around 6300 rpms and there really is no need for more lift on a 4.8 if you ask me. a huge cam does no good for a motor with no bottom end no matter what you do to it. i have no before numbers on dyno but it ran best of 14.4 forgot mph with the tb stall no times with that converter. a guy in mobile alabama did the head work. they looked great too!

my little cam with alot more lift pulled all the way to 7000-7100 at the track last week ...

On the dyno, the operator stoped the pull at 6500 and he said it was still climbing...

Why waste the money on heads if you're not even out flowing the stock heads with a lift that low?

And if that motor has no bottom end no matter what, why don't you throw a 3600 stall and a big cam in it.
