Default Manifold Vent/vacume tube Fitting

I was messing with the vent tube that is located just behind the throttle body and is vented through to the TB and it snapped off. I'm going to p/u a new one at the dealer tomorrow. What is the purpose of this vent? Will it hurt to drive to work and then home?(65-80 Miles) I didn't force it but doesn't seem to want to come out. Should it be threaded or does it snap in? Anyone know what I'm talking about?

If I remember correctly, that breather hooks to the PCV valve. Has your idle changed at all since it is off? I would think that it would being that now it is taking in air that is un metered.

The dealership told me that there was no replacement piece. That it was actually part of the manifold. WTF!!!!! Anybody got any sugestions? Is it time to upgrade the Manifold? Now is not really a good time. Maybe a used Ls6? Somebody throw some info at me please.

the older models used to have the breather pipe connection in the throttle body itself. you could seal off your broken one with some rtv and change throttle bodies.

Take a picture of the broken piece and post it. There has to be a better/cheaper way. Note, your truck manifold is very close to the LS6 manifold in performance. Don't sell it short. An upgrade won't help you to any discernible degree.
