Mandatory mods for 6.0 motor that is going turbo?
I finally got my cam in the mail today for my turbo setup. It is a comp cam 234/230 598/591 115+1. I also have patriot dual gold valve springs ready to go in. Any other critical changes I should make before dropping in the motor, ie. gaskets, studs, etc. Planning on 12lbs of boost at least.
Thanks for the input fellas!

that thing is going to run like mad!! what injectors and fuel system are you running? what exhaust system?
i am running head studs and rod bolts but i dont think they are needed at 12psi unless you plan on spining it up prety high. are you going to do a built motor in the future or do you plan on runing the 6.0 for a long time?
what heat exchanger are you running? hey, i see you have a 4wd, most likly the waste gate is going to hit on the shock tower prety hard. any plans on how to handle that?

As for the engine itself, I plan on the 6.0 for awhile hopefully, or atleast until the bug bites me hard again, or when some cash rolls in, I am sure I will be forged 408 someday. I just bought another ride so the funds are tight.
Some of the kit I have not received yet in the mail, including the heat exchanger. As for the wategate hitting, and such, the way I look at it is that I wanted a turbo kit, and it seemed to be a shot in the dark as to if or when cmotorsports would ever make another one. So I got this one and whatever fitment issues I have, I will modify and work through them. It may be a take me a while to get this thing on the road, but I sure think it will be worth it. Sorry for the long post.

Get some RTV sealeant Anti sieze for the bolts
Who's making the downpipe for you ?Combo making it for you
I been too lazy to make one
One thing make sure the put rolled edge or a bead on the BOV pipe
the first design didn't leave much room for clamping
I ended up welding some pipe on it to get more clamping surface
Tell them to test Fit all the Clamps for the Kit
As most did not FIT !!
Taylor Plug wires for LS1 motors <the boot is smaller then the msd wires >
Buy some more header wrap for the downpipe
Oh your gonna love it !

GMCSKI,
It is actually a used kit off of Seth's personal truck, so I feel pretty confident about all the clamps fitting together. I have most of it mocked up on the engine stand it looks good so far. I will check the BOV, thanks. And the 4 inch downpipe came with the kit!

Lower your compression. Maybe a thicker head gasket. Lower compression is good for turbo setups.
It means you can up the boost more.
Maybe like 8.0:1 would be perfect.

good luck on your turbo project sounds like it will be a screamer. 4l80 is the only way to go. go with a good headgasket thicker if you want for a little more boost. i have heard good and bad about cometic but i wouldl try them i am on my 408
