Default Make It Quieter!!!!!

After my longtube/Y-pipe install, this friggin 40 series Flowmaster has GOT to go. You wouldn't even know there was a muffler under there. It was recommended to me to run a Magnaflow 12588 muffler. A few internet searches show that a lot of people like this muffler a lot.

How much quieter would a Magnaflow 12588 (22") be vs the Flowmaster with the longtubes and Y-pipe???

I run a large case single 3.5" magnaflow with my LTs / ORY and it's tame , WOT it's loud and throaty but not obnoxious by any means , I think you'll be happy with the larger case magna.

Found the Magnaflow 12588 @ Advance Auto's website for $127.99. Apply $40 promo code and it's now $87.99.....free shipping!!!!! SOLD!!!!! I buy 90% of my vehicle parts this way, BTW. My buddy runs an exhaust shop and says HIS cost is more than that. Should be here by Thursday. We'll get it installed Saturday and I'll report back.

A124 is the specific one I used, but you can Google search them any time for various codes. It's saved me hundreds of dollars since I've been doing it.

Well, got the muffler installed yesterday. Ran new 3 inch pipe from the ORY pipe to the muffler, then 2 1/2" tail pipes out the back with 2 brand new polished stainless 4" tips. It's 5X's quieter than it was with the "Flexaflow" (Flowmaster knockoff) that was on there.

It looks and sounds awesome....from the outside. This sumbitch drones like crazy starting right at 1600 RPM thru 2000 RPM....which is exactly 55-65 mph. It's not the decibel level that's annoying. It's the tone/pitch. Can/will this possibly go away or at least get better after I put some miles on it????

I can't complain THAT much considering I have right at $550 in the headers/Y-pipe, Magnaflow muffler, and new exhaust pipes to the bumper with those stainless tips....including installation. (I'm frugal like that) I just hope the drone gets better.
