I'm still not too sure what to get. I heard the 18" will flow better giving you more power. How does the 18" sound compared to a 2-chamber flow?

That may be right about the shorter Magnaflow flowing better but I'd be surprised if it's really a noticeable difference. My 22" has a 3" pipe that goes from an offset inlet to a center outlet into a 3" mandrel-bent pipe. Other than the 4" difference in the length of the mufflers, what would cause the shorter one to flow better?

I just listened to the silverado sound clip on magnaflow's website. It was a dual exhaust with 22" mufflers. So will a single 18" sound like this setup since its only one muffler?

They do not drone, I think being chamberless helps. Make sure you get the straight-through "universal-fit" mufflers and not the XL ones. The XLs are a chamber/perforated tube design instead of perforated tube and stainless dampening material.

They are very deep at idle. The closer you can make the tailpipe exit to the muffler outlet the deeper it will be. At wide-open-throttle they are extremely loud and can be a little raspy too. It's a preference thing.

I can say from personal experience that if you ever burn out your cats from driving like a madman the volume levels and raspiness will increase to felonious levels... NOT GOOD!

It shouldn't sound much different.....those clips don't do the exhaust justice.
I think this one is a dual 18" setup...it sounds good.

Man that sound clip is awsome. I think I am going with the 18" now. By the way do you think it will be louder on my truck since mine will be dumped right off the muffler?

what about using the 14 inch casing with dual 2.5 inch in and single 3 inch out? I want to put this on my 6.0 and dump it. I've never had or heard a magnflow in real life.

i was thinking about changing my flowmaster out (Single in Dual out). it is way to raspey with out cats. i have heard nothing but good things about magnaflow, but i dont know which one will get rid of the raspy and be loud? does anyone have a sound clip of a magnaflow with out cats? or at least point me in a good direction. i personaly never heard a maganflow muffler on a gm truck, so i have no idea on what to exspect.
