I have been thinking of trying the larger case Magnaflow to quieten it down a bit but all my friends tell me I would be crazy to change it. I guess I am just getting older and dont want the "attention" all the time. Good thing I already have a cutout for when I do want to be noticed.
dude i'm in the same boat your in.
i'm guessing b/c we have the exact same exaust setup, lol...
yeah don't get me wrong, i love my aerochamber but after long periods of time (on trips) the drone gets annoying. i just want something quieter.
and yeah all i have to do is flip a switch for it to get louder

I have no cats and a single 3 in ch in and 3 inch out with a 14 inch case. At first it was dumped before the axle. HOLY CRAP it was loud inside, run it to the bumper and it seems to have helped the interior noise. I think if that is the 18 inch long model it will sound great with no cats. I wished mine cammed harder but what can I expect my cam is stock.

I have no cats and one 2.5" i/o Aerochamber and it gets a little drone, but nothing to annoying like a Flowmaster would. I just bought a Corsa sport and welded it on with a turn down. It's whisper quiet idling and cruising, but LOUD at WOT. It's so loud at WOT that it sounds almost like when I have the cut-outs open. I'm going to get my Aerochamber put back on.....I love the overall sound of it. I will say that the Corsa has free'd up some power though!!

Lance,

Shoot me a PM and we can meet up so you can hear mine. I have Dynatech LT's, cat-less y-pipe, Magnaflow resonator, and Magnaflow muffler dumped in the same spot as yours; and it is much quieter than just stock exhaust with the Magnaflow muffler welded in at cruise. Almost silent on the highway and it still screams at WOT though.

If you give me a ride in your truck I would be willing to let you listen.

Matt

hey matt. you see i don't want to add a resonator, just a different muffler. i don't have the room under the truck for a resonator. we do need to hook up one day and check out each other's truck.

i don't know how soon/when/if i'll change the muffler, but someone just pointed me in the direction of a dynomax super turbo muffler.

I had one of those on an old jeep I had with an LT-1 in it. I really liked it. A little more quiet but has a nice deep mellow sound.

I've got this one on my truck now with stock cats. I can get a couple clips if you want. Quiet down the highway, but good and throaty when you get into it.
