Default MAF directly on TB

Has anyone done this? And what size adapters do I need? I was thinking that since the TB and the MAF have about the same size opening, it would make more sense to put them together. Otherwise you have a 3 inch TB, 4 inch pipe, and 3 inch MAF. It seems like it is restricting the amount of air that can go thru the 4 inch pipe, but if you put the TB and MAF together, it will flow smoother and better. I plan to run a homemade air pipe straight down to the bottom of the electric fans, to get less hot air. Also my measurments are an estimate but I know they're close. Does this make sense to anybody? And if anyone has done it what size adapter do I need? Thanks

i'm not sure if there would be any benefit to doing this mod...maybe that the MAF is right there at the motor, so it's reading temps and what-not right at the inlet, not say 2 feet away like it is stock. i'm not sure if that would make any difference but i'm no tuner. if you're running a wet kit you wouldn't want to relocate it unless you found some way to tap the TB with the nitrous nozzle.

I tried it for a while. I liked the results, but I went back to the stock config so I cold run my wet NX kit. With the MAF up on the TB, I didn't have a good place to mount my nozzle.

Richard(Oxidizr) relocated his MAF to right in front of his TB. I saw it when I went down to get my FREE Magnaflow cat-back
He has a dry nitrous setup, so it's perfect...the nozzle is right after where our stock MAFs are.
I have called Richard and left PMs, I don't know where he is

its better to have the MAF closer to the engine for more accurate readings... i plan on doing this as well...

I think the truck felt more responsive. Hard to say if it made xxx more power, but it felt peppy.
