LT's and shortie questions
#1
Do longtubes sound different/better than shorties? Is there any fitting issues with the ASM LT headers, and how about the quality of the ASM's?

asm's quality is unmatched for the long tubes. different sound--from what i have heard yes. with the long tubes there will be a fittment deal but it is something that is easily remedied with a trip to the local exhaust shop.

You'll discover noticable amounts of power (mostly torque due to scavenging) from idle to about 3800rpm (give or take 200rpm or so) and they will also lean you out.
I have a set of ASMs too (on my garage floor
)...yes the coating sucks for the quality of the header itself.

i have edelbrock shorties now. i plan on going long tube or mid length. i am wanting the best for
2400 to 6400 max. which would yield the most for my application.
mods are in my mods at the bottom of the page. oh yay. staying n/a.

If you want shorties, it would be cheaper to just paint your stock manifolds silver. AS&M's will actually get a little quieter but better tone. Unless you of course open them up with cutouts.

Won't the computer adjust for the leaning out? Also what type of fitment issues are we talking about, and is does this happen with the ASM long tubes?
